Architect and potter
Born in Kanazawa in 1989. The 12th Ohi Pottery kiln head.
Studied architecture at Tokyo University of the Arts and pottery at the Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center. Graduated top of the architecture class at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. After learning under Atsushi Kitagawa, a Japanese leading architect, established Architectural Design Laboratory “EARTHEN” in 2021. “Bone Flower” was housed by the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa as a permanent exhibit, which is the work created by the youngest artist ever to be exhibited at the museum.
His main architectural works are “Node Kanazawa” (2023) and “Cave Toyama” (2023). His debut work “Node Kanazawa” was awarded the AACA Ashihara Yoshinobu New Face Award, ADAN prize of Architectural Design Association of Nippon, Ishikawa Good Landscape prize and the Kanazawa Urban Beauty Culture grand prize.
