About the Works Shown Above
According to the rules agreed upon in the documents, only works that are made of wood and undercoated by applying a hard base of urushi lacquer cloth and powdered diatomaceous earth (Wajima jinoko powder) are classed as Wajima Lacquerware. Some pieces displayed on this site do not comply with this rule. However, all works are produced by artisans in Wajima using traditional Japanese urushi lacquerware production methods.
